மௌனத்தைக் கேட்கவும்

ஒரு சீன அரசன் தன் மகனுக்குப் பட்டம் சூட்டிவிட வேண்டும் என்று முடிவு செய்தார். அரசன் தன் மகனுக்கு அரசனாகும் தகுதி இருக்கிறதா என அறிந்துகொள்வதற்காக ஒரு ஜென் குருவிடம் அனுப்பிவைத்தார்.

குரு இளவரசனிடம், “ நீ காட்டுக்குச் சென்று ஆறு மாதங்கள் கழித்து வா” என்றார்.

இளவரசன் காட்டில் பல இன்னல்களை அனுபவித்து ஆறு மாதங்கள் கழித்து வந்தார்.

குரு, “நீ காட்டில் என்னென்ன ஓசைகளைக் கேட்டாய் ?”

இளவரசன், “குருவே, நான் காட்டில் சிங்கங்களின் கர்ஜனை, புலியின் உறுமல், நரியின் ஊளையிடும் சத்தங்களைக் கேட்டேன்” என்றான்.

குரு, “நீ மீண்டும் காட்டுக்குச் சென்று ஆறு மாதங்கள் கழித்து வா”

சலிப்படைந்த இளவரசன் இம்முறைத் தன் காதுகளைக் கொண்டுக் கூர்மையாகக் கேட்கத் தொடங்கினான். ஆறு மாதங்களுக்குப் பின் குருவின் முன் வந்து நின்றான்.

குரு அவனிடம் முன்புக் கேட்டக் கேள்வியையே கேட்டார்.

இளவரசன், “குருவே இம்முறை பறவைகளின் ஒலிகளைக் கேட்டேன், பூச்சிகளின் சத்தங்களைக் கேட்டேன்”

குரு மீண்டும் அவனைக் காட்டுக்கு அனுப்பினார். ஆண்டுகள் உருண்டோடின. ஒருநாள் இளவரசன் குருவின் முன் வந்து வணங்கி நின்றான். அவன் முகத்தில் அமைதியும் ஒளியும் குடிகொண்டிருந்தன. இளவரசனின் நிலையைக் கண்ட குரு அரசனை அழைத்து வருமாறு ஆளனுப்பினார்.

இம்முறை குரு அவனிடம் எந்தக் கேள்வியும் கேட்கவில்லை. இளவரசனே பேசத் தொடங்கினான், “குருவே, காட்டில் மொட்டுக்கள் அவிழும் ஓசையைக் கேட்டேன், பிற உயிர்கள் தங்கள் மனங்களில் பேசுவதையும் தெளிவாகக் கேட்டேன், அவற்றின் மௌனத்துக்குப் பின்னால் ஒளிந்திருக்கும் எண்ணங்களின் அதிர்வுகளையும் கேட்டேன்” என்றார்.

அங்கு வந்த அரசன், இளவரசன் பேசுவதையெல்லாம் ஆச்சரியத்தோடுக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டு இருந்தார்.

குரு அரசனைப் பார்த்து, “அரசனே இப்போது இளவரசன் நாட்டையாளும் முழுத் தகுதியைப் பெற்றுவிட்டார். வெறும் வெற்று ஆரவாரங்களில் உண்மை இல்லை என்பதையும், உண்மையானது மௌனத்துக்குள் ஒளிந்திருக்கிறது என்பதையும் தெரிந்து கொண்டுவிட்டார்.” என்றார்.

மகிழ்ச்சியடைந்த அரசனும் இளவரசனும் குருவை வணங்கி விடைபெற்றனர்.

அந்தப்பிரதேசம் முழுக்க அந்தபுனிதரின் பெயர்
பரவிருந்தது. அவர் ஒரு மலையில் சிறு குடிசையில்
வசிக்கிற சேதியும் கூடவே பிரபலமாக இருந்தது.

தூரத்து கிராமத்து மனிதர் ஒருவர் அவரைச்’
சந்தித்துவிடவேண்டுமென்கிற ஏக்கத்தில் நெடு
நாள் பயணம் செய்து புனிதரின் இருப்பிடம்
அடைந்தார்.

குடிசையின் வாசலில் அவரை ஒரு வயோதிக
வேலைலைக்கரன் வரவேற்றான்.’நான் அந்த
மகானைப்பார்க்கவேண்டு’மென்று
வேலைக்காரனிடம் சொன்னார்.குடிசைக்குள்
அவருக்கு உபசாரம் நடந்தது.அப்போதும்
புனிதரைப் பார்க்கமுடியவில்லை.

நேரம் ஆக ஆக பொறுமையிழந்து கிராம வாசி
‘நான் எப்பொழுதுதான் புனிதரைப்பார்க்க
முடியும்’ என்று கேட்டார்.’நீங்கள் பார்க்க வந்தவரை
ஏற்கனவே பார்த்துவிட்டீர்கள்’ என்று சொன்னார்.

மேலும்’நீங்கள் வாழ்க்கையில் சந்திக்கிற
ஒவ்வொரு சாதாரண,அடித்தட்டு மனிதரையும்
விவேகமுள்ள புனிதராக நினைத்தால் உங்கள்
வாழ்க்கையின் எல்லா பிரச்சினைகளையும் மிகச்
சுலபமக தீர்த்துவிடலாம்’ என்று வேலைக்காரனாய்
வந்த புனிதர் சொன்னார்.

சுருட்டு பிடிக்கும்போது தியானம் செய்யலாமா? கலையுணர்வு தேவை

ஒரு ஜென் குருவிடம் பயின்ற இரண்டு சீடர்கள் அந்த குருவின் வீட்டுத் தோட்டத்தில் நடைப்பயிற்சி செய்துகொண்டிருந்தனர். அவர்கள் காலையும் மாலையும் நடைப்பயிற்சியில் ஈடுபடவேண்டும் என்பது குருவின் கட்டளை. 

நடைப்பயிற்சியும் தியானத்தில் ஒருவகையாக இருந்தது. நடைத்தியானம் அது. உங்களால் இருபத்தி நான்கு மணிநேரமும் அமர்ந்திருக்க இயலாது. கால்களுக்குக் கொஞ்சம் அசைவு தேவை. ரத்த ஓட்டம் சீராகும். ஜென் பவுத்தம் , சூஃபிசம் இரண்டிலும் சில மணிநேரங்கள் அமர்ந்து தியானம் செய்த பின்னர், நடைத்தியானத்திற்கு முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுக்கப்படுகிறது. தியானம் தொடர்கிறது. நீங்கள் நடந்துகொண்டிருக்கலாம், உட்காரலாம். உங்களுக்குள் ஆற்றலின் தன்மை மாறுவதில்லை. 

தோட்டத்தில் நடந்து கொண்டிருந்த இரண்டு சீடர்களுமே புகைப்பிடிக்கும் பழக்கம் உள்ளவர்கள். தங்கள் குருவிடம் புகைபிடிப்பதற்கு அனுமதி கேட்க அவர்கள் நினைத்தனர். தோட்டத்தில் புகைபிடிப்பது அத்தனை குற்றத்துக்குரிய காரியம் ஒன்றும் இல்லை என்று கருதிய அவர்கள் குருவிடம் அடுத்தநாள் புகைபிடிப்பதற்கான அனுமதியைப் பெறவேண்டும் என்று தீர்மானித்துக் கொண்டனர். 

மறுநாள் மாலை இரு சீடர்களும் தோட்டத்தில் சந்தித்துக்கொண்டனர். ஒரு சீடன் கையில் சுருட்டு இருந்தது. புகைத்துக் கொண்டிருந்தான். இதைப் பார்த்த இன்னொரு சீடனுக்குக் கடுமையான கோபம் உண்டானது. “ என்ன ஆனது? நானும் புகைபிடிப்பதற்கு அனுமதி கேட்டேன். அவரோ நிர்தாட்சண்யமாக மறுத்துவிட்டார். அவர் அனுமதி இல்லாமல் நீ எப்படி புகைபிடிக்கிறாய்?” என்று கோபத்துடன் கேட்டான். 

அந்த சீடனோ குருவின் சம்மதத்துடனேயே புகைபிடிப்பதாகக் கூறினான். 

இது என்ன அநியாயம் என்று முதல் சீடனுக்குத் தோன்றியது. “ உடனடியாகப் போய் ஏன் உனக்கு மட்டும் அனுமதி கிடைத்தது என்று கேட்கப் போகிறேன்” என்றான். 

கோபத்தில் இருந்த சீடனைப் பார்த்து அனுமதி பெற்ற சீடன், “ ஒரு கணம் பொறு. நீ குருவிடம் என்ன கேட்டாய் என்பதை மட்டும் சொல்” என்றான். 

சீடன் பதில் சொன்னான். “தியானம் பண்ணும்போது புகைபிடிக்கலாமா என்று கேட்டேன். அவர் கூடாது என்று சொன்னார்” என்றான். 

அதைக் கேட்டு புகைபிடித்துக் கொண்டிருந்த சீடன் விழுந்து விழுந்து சிரித்தான். “ இப்போது எனக்கு விஷயம் புரிகிறது. சுருட்டு பிடிக்கும்போது தியானம் செய்யலாமா? என்று கேட்டேன். அவர், பிடிக்கலாம் என்று அனுமதி கொடுத்தார்” என்றான். 

இரண்டு கேள்விகளுக்கும் சின்ன வித்தியாசம் தான். ஆனால் இந்தச் சின்ன வித்தியாசத்தில் வாழ்க்கை வேறுவிதமாகி விடுகிறது. 

தியானம் செய்யும் போது புகைபிடிக்கலாமா என்று கேட்கும்போது அது அசிங்கமாக இருக்கிறது. புகைபிடிக்கும்போது தியானத்தில் ஈடுபடலாமா? என்று கேட்கும்போது அதே கேள்வி சரியானதாகிவிடுகிறது. அப்போதாவது நீங்கள் தியானிக்க நினைக்கிறீர்கள் அல்லவா? 

வாழ்க்கை தன்னளவில் துயரகரமானதோ ஆனந்தமானதோ அல்ல. வாழ்க்கை என்பது எந்த ஓவியமும் வரையப்படாத வெறும் கித்தானாக உள்ளது. அவ்வளவுதான். அதை அழகாக்க ஒருவர் கலையுணர்வு மிகுந்தவராக இருக்க வேண்டும். 

ஓஷோவின் இந்தக் கதை வழ்க்கையிலிரிந்து எதை எடுத்துக்கொள்வது, எப்படி என்றைக் கேட்பது என்பதைக் கூறிகிறது. புகைபிடிப்பதை ஊக்கிவிக்கவில்லை.

 · Beginning the Interview

· Greet the interviewer standing up, with a strong handshake, good eye contact and a smile. Try not to turn your back to the interviewer to close the door – keep your body language open, and retain the connection. Follow the lead of the interviewer – small talk/direct approach

 During the Interview:

· Listen – carefully to the introduction and to every question

· Clarify - Answer the question that is asked, not what you wish was asked! Ask for  clarification if you are unsure

· Detail – do not rush through your answers, give sufficient detail

· Examples – Give concrete examples where possible

· Relax – try not to sound to rehearsed

Body Language:

· Eye contact – strong and effective, natural and interested

· Affirmation – nods, and agreement where necessary. Show that you are listening

· Seating position – avoid barriers if possible (e.g. tables)

· Comfortable – sit in a comfortable position, but not TOO relaxed, (e.g. Legs crossed)

· Positive & Open – non defensive stance: Do not cross your arms, do not wring your hands, face the interviewer, cross your legs towards the interviewer if at all, use your hands to be expressive

· Sitting forward/ Sitting back – Affirmation

Questions:

· Ask some questions at the end of the interview

· Listen to the answers

– strong and effective, natural and interested

· Affirmation – nods, and agreement where necessary. Show that you are listening
